Current Happenings in Science

  1. Obtain recent copies of science magazines/articles. A few good ones include Scientific American, Science, and National Geographic.
  2. Have students read an article they find interesting, report and comment on it. At the Science center, have a bulletin board prepared for students to place the article along with their review next to it.
  3. You may also want to have them create a visual representation of one or more of the scientific facts explained in the article to place on the board next to their review.
  4. When everone has gone to this center, share the reviews with the class so everyone can learn about what's new in science today.
