Habitat Connection

Separate a bulletin board into four sections:

• polar
• desert
• mountain
• rainforest

Create a basic habitat using butcher paper or construction paper. For example, with the desert habitat, you might want to use brown paper for the ground, make a bright sun, and add a few cacti. Create separate animal cut-outs from each of the four areas. Draw these yourself, use stencils, magazine cut-outs, etc. Form a little pocket on the board out of tagboard in which to store the animals. Have students pin the animals onto/into the habitat where they belong.
